Moonlit Skin

As we start gearing ourselves up for the dark nights and a wardrobe of black and grey – we shouldn’t cower at the thought of winter, but embrace the season’s must have beauty trend – Moonlit Skin!

Moonlit skin has been bubbling under the surface as a trend for some time now, and the ethereal glow is a look we should all be channelling this winter. Think inviting and mysterious, rather than graveyard chiller!

Make-up artists have been loving the moonlit glow for over a year now - Val Garland even used it as a key beauty trend in a shoot with Mario Testino in British Vogue (Nov’ 2011). The trend has been seen on the catwalk and triumphed at Erdem Autumn Winter 2012 – it’s time moonbathe!

Begin by preparing your skin for a luscious coat of self tan with Tan Optimiser Body Polish, this will leave your skin feeling, smooth and clean. The body polisher will also help to create a smooth even finish when applying self tan.

For Body

For an easy to achieve, all over body glow –

Step 1: Moisturize any dry areas thoroughly with Tan Optimiser Body Moisturizer

Step 2: Pump Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse into an Applicator Mitt and smooth from head to toe making sure you're covered. Wait untill touch dry before dressing.

Step 3: Mix St.Tropez Tan Optimiser Body Moisturizer with Violet Skin Illuminator on your applicator mitt and apply to the whole body. This will give an all over sheen to the skin as well as nourishing with moisture.

Step 4 (optional): Highlight keybody areas by moisturizing with body moisturizer and then applying the illuminator to your limbs. Start by running the illuminator down the front of the shins and up the outer area of the thigh muscle, ending roughly two fingers width above the knee. For upper body, apply to the front of the arms.

For Face and Décolletage

Step 1: To highlight and add a moonlit glow to your face – use a duo fibre brush in circular motions (if you don’t have one of these, simply use your finger tips) to apply the Violet Illuminator to your cheek bones and around the brow area.

Step 2: Apply a tiny amount down the front of your nose and on your chin to create the illusion of standing in the natural light of the moon. How romantic!

Step 3: Apply a generous amount of illuminator to your collar bones and shoulders to give added definition. If you have your back on show, run the illuminator around the natural curve of your shoulder blades to give that boost and definition.

Happy Moonbathing!
