I can honestly say, I’ve never been to a book launch where the décor consisted of haybales, tee pees, chandeliers and St. Tropez treatments, but it has to be said, it was the ideal shabby, chic event! Marking the perfect way to kickoff the festival season and celebrate the launch of my novel Grass Stains.

Party girls and DJs about town Ben Grimes and Tolula Adeyemi got us bumping amid the bunting at the brilliantly grand Home House in the West End. Whilefestival IT girls including Jameela Jamil and Hofit Golan talked outfits andplaylists...Other celebrities that attended were Louise Goldin (Designer), BrixSmith-Start (Gok Wan’s fashionista side-kick from Fashion Fix), Leigh Lezark, Geordon from the Miss-Shapes, George Lamb and Andrea McClean from GMTV. Iumm’d and err’d over which design to go for at the artists’ WeAreJessAndJames’temporary tattoo parlor (I went for ‘Rebel Without A Horse’ in the end) and wastotally gripped by Lady Lilac, the palm reader for the evening.

St. Tropez made sure we all had fantastic festival approvedpins too; as skin finishing expert, Abbi Hollins worked her magic -applying 'St. Tropez Perfect Legs' to those dare enough to bare! A beautiful summer's day had brought a lotof short skirts to the party, so Abbi was a busy lady. (Until last night I wasa PL virgin, but the instant colour plus regular self tan combo is genius).

This summer’s going to be a big one for me as I festival hop my way through, blogging and tweeting as I go (all the action in my book’s set at a festival soit’s the perfect excuse!). A massive highlight will be reading an extract from Grass Stains at V, exclusively for St. Tropez. I’ve not been to the festival before and being asked to come and read in St. Tropez’s VIP yurt backstage will be an amazing introduction.

I was a journalist before I turned author and I’ll always love a bit ofbackstage celeb watching. So, I’ll definitely be in the right place. There’snot a diva out there who’ll be able to resist the chance to use one of thespray booths or have a treatment hand applied. Plus I’ve heard St Tropez haveforged a rep for a pretty special goody bag too.

Watch out for me if you’re planning to do some open air dancing over thesummer, and don't forget to follow this blog for more festival news.
